Ketevan Aladashvili - KateWine

Ketevan aspired to be a journalist, but as a student, she rediscovered herself and realized she was drawn to an entirely different field. "When I first began my internship at a winery, I saw what winemaking truly entailed—how wine was blended in the laboratory, how it was filtered. I experienced the aroma of wine. As soon as you enter the winery, you're enveloped by that distinct smell. That's when I knew this would be my future profession. I felt a profound admiration and knew I was on the right path."

Ketevan Aladashvili has been a member of the Association of Women Winemakers since its foundation. He is the main winemaker of the wine company "Berika", where he works on European-type wines, at the same time, he has a family-owned, lovingly created small winery KateWine in Telavi, where he produces different types of wine. All family members are actively involved in the wine making process. They worship and praise the pitcher, they equate the boiling process of the pitcher with human pulsation, they listen to the pitcher's breath one by one. In order to get the result and make the desired wine, their emotions and attitude during the brewing process are of great importance.

Ketevan especially enjoys working with Ki, due to its variety, this wine says it all with its aroma and body. Also Rkatsiteli, which we can make in European style and also in pitcher.

In 2019, her wine KateWine received the first gold medal, despite the fact that Katevan wine has received the award many times since then, the emotion of the first gold medal was unforgettable for her, she had a great feeling of pride that a woman managed to achieve such a great success with wine made at home, in a jug reached

From the family members, Ketevan had full support as a woman winemaker from the first day, however, Ketevan notes that years ago there was a rather ironic attitude on the part of society and there was always a question mark, how could a woman's wine be a gold medalist, how could a woman manage such a large production as Working in the company and selling one car every day.

" Before, I didn't say that I was a wine drinker. How could a wine made by a woman be equal, now I imagine it on the contrary and I like it very much." .

Ketevan goes abroad for trainings, seminars and exhibitions and tastes their wine. It creates an idea of what we can compete with, what we can't, where we can take an example and diversify our production.

KateWine can be purchased in specialized wine stores.
