Labor has developed additional paid "menstrual leave" for female employees.

Labor is a professional union of employees in agriculture, trade and industry of Georgia. Labor instituted 3 days of paid menstrual leave per month for female employees.

Labor's women's caucus is launching a legislative initiative to legislate additional paid period leave. In order to understand the mood of the public, research and consultations with experts in various fields are underway. Negotiations with the social partners are starting so that as many companies as possible can develop similar policies before the law comes into effect. Probably, as soon as the initiative is developed, it will be necessary to collect signatures, which is planned for the fall.

In the world, menstrual leave is already legalized in 8 countries: Spain is the only European country among them.
